Toryn does what she can to keep the people of her small settlement safe. In the wastelands of Magnami, it's not easy; nothing is. Aside from always needing constant vigilance against the Berserkers (the race of humanoid rage beasts that destroyed civilization), and a shaky supply line of bare necessities, she also maintains a tenuous treaty with Tannit, a greedy Destroyer warlord who's always threatening to raid her village.

So when three strangers wander into town claiming to have the relic that will save the world, she's a might bit skeptical.

Return to Life is a sci fi / post-apocalytic / fantasy short film written/directed/edited by Cliff Bailey as his capstone project in the Academy for Creative Media film school at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Every morning there's a routine. A routine of waking up, shuffling to the kitchen, reaching for the bag of coffee, heating the water, and pouring it over the grounds to get that bitter sip of sweet, sweet caffeine. But what if there appears some magical bag adjacent to the bag of coffee? Do you ignore it? Toss it? Or just blithely pour the mysterious contents into your filter and see what happens?

This is Cliff's first short film as a student of the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

This is a collection of photographs and video clips from Cliff’s first mission in the Navy when attached to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command. His team worked with a small village in rural Laos for approximately 42 days and it was a life-changing experience for Cliff.
